Windows 2000 Pro problem. This problem know as Login Looping, occurs when some changes occur in the way drives are configured. It can be a simple thing like installing a preformatted secondary drive that is set to be active. NOT caused by virus but usually by corruption of pagefile or Master Boot Record.

SYMPTOM: Win 2000 keeps prompting you for login and password but then keeps sending you right back to the login screen. It accepts the password but kicks you back out to login prompt.

SOLUTION: The simple solution is to get to a DOS prompt and run fdisk /mbr.
